Rose Poivrée

Jean-Claude Ellena has gone further than a simple evocation of a rose. The essence of rose, as delicate as a perfume of angels and blue skies, is however devilishly voluptuous. The aroma of Rose Poivrée spawns feelings of mischievous angels playing in heavenly blue skies.The perfume leaves a bewildering trail behind it, a unique sensual rose blended with warm peppery notes.

Rose used: Damascus Rose harvested between May and July across the Mediterranean region. 50 kilos of rose petals are required to create 250ml of Rose Poivrée.
Contains: Rose, rose berries, pepper, coriander, vetiver and civet.

Osmanthus

Osmanthus, reminiscence of a Chinese garden, was created by Jean-Claude Ellena to keep alive the memory of an emotion that struck him during a visit to the Forbidden City in Beijing. He reveals all the olfactory beauty of this tree, originating from China, with its delicate and fragile white little flowers, which one may also encounter in a garden on the French Riviera. Due to its scarcity, the Osmanthus fragrance is seldom used or, generally in small proportions. The tree is sensitive to cold weather and its sparse seed only germinates after two years of gestation, the finest Osmanthus flowers blooming in October. This exquisite scent freshly unfolds to reveal a symphony of green sweet notes reminiscent of apple and apricot.

Osmanthus used : Osmanthus fragrans, originating from China. 20 kilos of Osmanthus flowers are needed to produce 250 ml of fragrance.

Bois d'Iris

The scent of Bois d’Iris can be traced back to the rugged hills of Tuscany. The Iris Palida, the most aromatic of its kind, grows exclusively on this site of arid rocks and mild soil. Unlike the osmanthus flower whose epidermis cells secrete the essential oil, the iris its olfactory wonders within its roots. This concealment is so skilful that several years of complex processing are required to capture its secrets : planting, frequent hoeing by hand, to avoid damaging the rhizomes (roots), harvesting (three years later), selecting and husking, washing, followed buy one month of drying under sun on lattice trays , and five years of dehydrating in bags; the grinding and milling in factory. The powder that results from these six years of preparation is macerated in cold water.

Iris used: Iris Pallida, the so-called “Sumptuous” of Iris Florentina. It takes 200 kilos of iris to make 250ml of Bois d’Iris.
Contains: Iris, vetiver, bergamot, cedar wood, narcissus, geranium and musk.

Bergamote

Bergamot is a lasting pleasure: starting with materials whose aromas most often evoke the lighter Eaux de Toilettes, Jean Claude Ellena wanted to compose a marvellous and timeless fragrance. Bergamot is mixed with ginger, which delivers a spicy, luscious note.Orange-flower is added to delicately underline the floral note of this hesperidium; Vert-de-Feuille enhances the freshness, while rhubarb wood and musk prolong the pleasure. A classical and comtemporary composition.

Bergamot used: Over 70% of the purest bergamot essence.

Jasmin de Nuit

Jasmine is a small ad short lasting flower that lightens the night with its scent and gently disappears at dawn. A white and fragile sparking little star breathing its scent across the shady gardens and the sleeping fountains. It has the delicacy and charm of Boticelli's madonnas as well as the richness of warm leathery notes. Céline Ellena, following the tradition of her father's masterwork for The Different Company, has given us the warm, caressing and shining Jasmin de Nuit using 700 000 flowers of Egyptian Jasmine to produce a single 90 ml bottle, combined with star anise, sandal wood, bergamot and amber.

Sel de Vétiver

For her second signature-scent Céline Ellena gave her interpretation of salt, an imaginary material in the creator's palette, and worked with a wild and mesmerizing Vétiver to create this mysterious and intriguing scent, a bewildering combination of luminous crystals and the burning and wild character of Haitian Vetiver. Our createur-parfumeur worked with two types of vetiver of different extractions to keep only the lightest and most transparent notes of vetiver. The zest of grape-fruit is stronger and the woody note is goldier. A puzzling and fleeting composition with salty and fresh notes coming from the grape-fruit and liveche, sweetened by the warm and sensual notes of geranium, ylang ylang and iris resinoide.

Vétiver used: Haitian vétiver, the rarest.

Un Parfum d'Ailleurs et Fleurs

"Un Parfum d'Ailleurs et Fleurs" has a striking ambiguity to it: Two white and sensual flowers of opposite characters, one pure while the other tantalizing, are united to create this incredible mixed feeling of sensual purity. Neroli is a symbol of purity and virginity while the Tuberose reveals the world of temptation and seduction. To create this delicious nectar, Céline Ellena chose the Orange Bigarade tree - belonging to the Hesperidum olfactory family - which produces bitter oranges and two divine natural oils: Neroli Bigarade oil and PetitGrain Bigarade Oil. The scent starts lightly on the fresh and luminous notes of Neroli and PetitGrain mixed with the rich voluptuousness of the Tuberose flower leaving a stunning sensation on the skin. Ultimately, the sensuality of Elder blossoms followed by base notes of soft musk give a magnificent warm twist to this floral gift.

Un Parfum de Sens et Bois

"Un Parfum de Sens et Bois" has a sort of black and white flavour to it, a fragrance full of contrasts made of shade and light, a spicy woody scent which traces its path through bushes and clear woods. Streams of purity and grace escape from the White Violet which conjures up images of a fragile flower draped in a silken white dress, her pretty little silver eyes gazing at the earth's darkness. The spicy notes coming from the Black Pepper and the Elemi, join the floral accord creating a sensual and penetrating fragrance. To create this absolutely alluring mix Céline Ellena selected a very special type of Cedar wood, Chinese Cedar Wood, a symbol of endless power. The floral note comes from the White Violet, a rare and vivid flower with scented petals. Black Pepper blends magnificently with Ginger and Elemi. This bewildering warm and spicy twist enhances the beauty and grace of the White Violet pervading our scents with a smoky, warm and spicy scent.

Granted with exceptional powers, these peoples of unknown and magic lands have gathered to invent a mesmerizing scent for your skin gently caressed by the magic scent of aromatic herbs: sage nowadays still used in the shaman rituals of Indian American tribes; garden Marjoram with its small white and mauve flowers and Serpolet's delicate aroma . In the middle of this mysterious garden, a magnificent rich bed of Indian Jasmine - known for its heady voluptuousness - is prepared in which Pepper Mint leaves are calmly resting, gently woken up by the fresh and zesty notes of Grape-fruit and Clementine followed by the warm and sensual accords of Patchouli. "Un Parfum de Charmes et Feuilles" conjures up images of mysterious and legendary gardens revealing marvelous olfactory treasures to the eye of the bewitched.
